How It Works
Step 1. INVITATION & APPLICATION
The Secretary General will officially invite an institution after due considerations. The institution reviews our application requirements and submits an Online Application Form for membership.
Step 2. APPLICATION REVIEW
The Secretary General receives the completed application, reviews it for completeness and presents same to the board approval and ratification.
Step 3. PUBLIC STATUS, PRIORITY NEED PROPOSALS AND SUBSCRIPTION FEE
The decision on the application is communicated to the institution. The institution submits one proposal:
(a) A list of priority needs for sustaining a 21-century skills-based teaching and learning environment in their institution.
There is no applicable subscription fee for institution invited to join AUF.
Step 4. UPDATE WEBSITES
AUF and the member institution will update their websites. A button on AUF's website will be linked to a page on the institution's website and vice versa for accessibility to donors and other visitors on both ends.
Step 5. DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Member institution may set up a Development Committee (DC) and nominates an official liaison to AUF. Membership of DC shall be representative of all strategic groups within the institution including the Students Union.
Step 5.1 In cohort with AUF, Development Committee lays out a plan for initial fundraising in Africa for Endowment Fund and Alumni Database project.
Step 6. ENDOWMENT FUND ACCOUNT
AUF and institution sets up a US donation and Endowment Fund accounts for institution and links the university liaison to both endowment and donation accounts.
