1. Governance Structure

The principal organs of AUF are the following:

  1. The Board of Directors (BoD)
  2. The Board of Advisors (BoAD)
  3. The Office of the Secretary-General (OoSG)
  4. The Secretariat (TSEC).

The Board of Directors (BoD)
The Board of Directors is the supreme authority of the Fund and is responsible for determining the general policies of AUF. It physically meets once yearly. It meets as needed by teleconference.

The Board of Advisors (BoAD)
The Advisory Board members provide valuable assistance and advice to the Board of Directors and the Office of the Secretary-General. It is made up of Rectors, Vice-Chancellors, Presidents of member universities, representatives of partner organizations and other individuals appointed by the Secretary-General. This board physically and officially meets once a year but does meet as needed over teleconference. It has a liaison between it, the Board of Directors and the Office of the Secretary-General.

The Office of the Secretary-General (OoSG)

The Office of the Secretary-General implements the decisions of the Board of Directors. It also makes regular program recommendations to the Board of Directors and runs the day-to-day operations of the Fund through the Secretariat. The OoSG's and the BoAD are connected by a representative appointed by the Secretary-General.

The Secretariat (TSEC)

The Secretariat is the Permanent Executive Organ of AUF and operates under the general supervision of the Board of Directors and the direction of the Secretary-General.
