The growing enrollment figures in institutions of higher learning in Africa indicate the passion of young people for education. At a time that funding is drying up for public universities, securing donor support provide financial aid and scholarship to struggling or potential students both at the undergraduate and graduate levels becomes paramount. AUF is committed to supporting financially disadvantaged students and the public status of universities that cater to them. Many public universities in Africa cannot and do not provide financial aid or scholarships of any kind from their shrinking operating budgets.
AUF raises funds to offer undergraduate and graduate scholarships, financial aid, bursaries, and prizes from Alumni, friends, and businesses and variety of ways. By giving to struggling and poor students, donors help to expand and sustain access to higher education.
